1 night/2 days Tarangire National Park

Day 1

The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 1230hrs. 1400hrs, drive to Tarangire National Park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2

Enjoy a morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park. The park is known for its tree-climbing lions and for its very big herds of buffalo. This is one of Africa’s little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. The game numbers are staggering: 30,000 zebra, 25,000 wildebeest, 5,000 buffalo, 3,000 elephant, 2,500 Maasai giraffe and over 1,000 fringe-eared oryx (gemsbok). Predators include lion, cheetah and leopard and birders will want to look out for the endemic ashy starling, rufous-tailed weaver and black-collared lovebird. Lunch at the lodge, followed by transfer back to Arusha town.

Day 2

Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a half day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Lunch at the lodge. After lunch, drive back to Arusha. Drop off in Arusha town at round 1700hrs.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Depart for an early morning around your lodge, return to the lodge for breakfast. Mid morning, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the lodge. Enjoy morning game drives in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Return to your lodge for lunch before departing to central part of Serengeti National Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Early morning game drive and morning game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Lunch at the lodge. After lunch, drive to Ndutu area on the border between Ngorongoro and Serengeti. Game view en route. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or camp in Ndutu

Day 5

Morning game drive around Ndutu Area. Lunch at Ndutu camp or the lodge. After lunch drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Day 1

Arrive at JRO. After clearing customs and immigration formalities, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Arusha. Overnight on Bed & Breakfast at Impala Hotel

Day 2

Day 3

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the lodge. This afternoon, you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for a day crater tour with picnic lunches. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro

Day 4

Drive to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge, the site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Lunch at the lodge in Serengeti. You will have an afternoon game drive in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

D 5+6

Two full days of game viewing in the Serengeti. Meals and overnight at the lodge in the Serengeti National Park

Day 7

Enjoy an early morning game drive, before breakfast. Return to the lodge for late breakfast. Enjoy a mid morning and then depart to Ngorongoro Highlands. Lunch at Gibbs Farm or similar. Afternoon visit to the waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Manyara

Day 8

After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Lunch at Lake Manyara Hotel/ Lodge. After lunch, drive back to Arusha and proceed to JRO for departure flight in the evening.
