Coffin for adulterous wife

By Filex Muriithi , Posted October 16, 2012

Residents of Kahuro village in Mugoiri Township, Murang’a County, were astonished last week when a man, barely married a year ago, purchased coffin for his adulterous wife.

The man only identified as Gathu (not his real name) said that his wife had been causing him pain from her adulterous ways for the past six months.

He accused his wife of bringing men to their matrimonial bed while he was busy trying to make ends meet.

Incidentally, Gathu said that while they were dating he never promised his wife only fine things in life.

Cheat

Gathu told Crazy Monday that he had explained to his wife that he did not come from a well to do family before getting married.

However, it did not take long before his wife decided to cheat on him.
According to a witness, the family had issues immediately after marriage when Gathu discovered his wife’s wayward ways.  She was in a secret love affair with another man.
Gathu, a well known logger in the region, accused his wife has of demanding for beef, milk and eggs daily, which he could not afford from his poor pay.

“She only thinks of her stomach as if I don’t also have one. Investing does not cross her mind,” he lamented.

The logger could not control his anger and decided to buy a casket for the 22-year-old woman.

As he ferried it on his head at midday, it attracted residents who followed him secretly to see where he was taking it.

When he arrived home, he called his wife to assist him put it down.

Running away

“Kuja unisaidie,” (come help me!), he ordered. His wife thought that the spouse had bought all she had requested for.
The wife swiftly sauntered out of their single-roomed house wearing her outfits inside out. She was, however, stunned to find her husband with a coffin on his head.
On sensing danger, she took to her heels towards the forest — following the secret lover who had left a few minutes before her husband arrived — for safety.

“Look, she has seen I’m annoyed. I would have dealt with her for uncivilised behaviour. I don’t want to contract HIV and Aids,” he shouted?dropping the coffin down. His wife has not been seen since.
