Martha Karua to meet Kenyan Diaspora

Kenyas 2012 Presidential aspirant and Gichugu constituency MP, Martha Karua is in the US for a series of candid chats and town hall meetings with Kenyans from June 16th to June 19th.  

Karua, the ambitious but tough lady, recently made ripples in the Kenyan political landscape when she resigned as the  minister for Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs in the fragile Kenyan coalition government citing frustration with the government.

She will be meeting and engaging in discussions with the US Kenyan diaspora in Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washington DC this week.

      Karua attended the University of Nairobi from 1977 to 1980. She then went on to attend the Kenya School of Law for two years before entering public service as a Magistrate from 1981 to 1987.

In 1987 she formed her own Law firm, Martha Karua & Co. Advocates, which she ran until 2002. She is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

        Karua has been a prominent figure in Kenyan politics and a women rights champion throughout her career and shows no signs of letting up.

“All Kenyans have been invited and encouraged to attend in order to ask Karua any nagging questions they might have regarding governance in Kenya”, said Philip Gitonga of Worcester Ma in a telephone conversation with AjabuAfrica.com”. Gitonga is one of the organizers of the Massachusetts leg of Karuas’ visit.
